Customizing File Buddy items in Finder contextual menus
Because third-party items available in Finder contextual menus are added via Mac OS X Services, all File Buddy commands appropriate for items selected in Finder are automatically available by default and will appear in Finder Services menu as well as any Finder contextual menus. This is a departure from previous releases of File Buddy because they were provided by a contextual menu plug-in that had to be explicitly installed before File Buddy’s commands could be available.

Use System Preferences to remove commands you don’t expect to use or to assign keyboard shortcuts to commands you expect to use frequently:

  1. Open System Preferences.
  2. Select the Keyboard preferences option.
  3. Select the Keyboard Shortcuts tab.
  4. Select Services in the list on the left.
  5. Scroll the list on the right down until you see the section labeled Files and Folders.
  6. Uncheck any commands you will not be using so they will not appear in Finder contextual menus. At the same time you can assign keyboard shortcuts to commands you expect to use frequently.
